Restructuring and Executive Exits

The business world is constantly changing and sometimes it may be necessary to alter the structure of your business to ensure that you can continue to provide the best possible service to your customers. Restructuring a business often results in unavoidable job losses and this can be challenging to manage when senior executives are involved.

Negotiating the exit of a senior colleague can create tension and uncertainty in your business and there are often concerns about reputational damage to the business with key suppliers and customers and worries about the possibility that your exiting colleague may join a competitor.

This was the situation which faced one of my Charity Clients “The Rank Foundation” when they restructured during 2016. Fortunately for all concerned, I was able to negotiate the necessary exit swiftly, with certainty and with the minimum of disruption, ensuring that the parting of the ways was as amicable as possible.

When the Rank Foundation needed employment advice, the services of gunnercooke in Manchester were recommended. Carl Atkinson, a Partner at gunnercooke, acted on our behalf: I greatly appreciate the timely and helpful advice, delivered with an experienced, personal touch and with no confusion as to fees or cost. Carl helped us swiftly navigate through potentially choppy waters: I commend his services most highly.
